My Approach & Philosophy
Therapy is a place to dream, scream, and put it all back together again. You will arrive again and again, to a place where you know you are worthy and no longer have to hide. There is a future where you are welcome without wearing a mask. There are people who will show up for you. The real you. You deserve to find them.
Growing up in the rolling hills of Appalachia taught me the importance of having “your people.” It also taught me how difficult it can be to find a place of true belonging. As a gender-expansive, chronically (ch)ill, neurodivergent therapist, I realize it can be painful to wonder whether others will show up for you as your authentic self. So far, I’ve also learned that healing often begins with one safe relationship, then another, until a sense of community and belonging starts to grow.
Finding your people isn’t always easy. Sometimes healing looks like making it through one difficult day at a time. Sometimes it looks like late-night phone calls with someone you trust or showing up to therapy even when it feels impossible. Other times, it looks like rediscovering the things that make you feel most like yourself – drinking coffee, decorating for the holidays, creating art, or laughing until your stomach hurts. Healing is often found in both the hard moments and the ordinary ones.
My goal is to create a space where every part of you is welcome…especially the parts you’ve learned to hide. Together, we’ll explore what matters to you, make room for the pain you’re carrying, and help you build a life that feels more connected, authentic, and meaningful. You’re ready for this. It won’t always be easy, but you won’t have to do it alone. And hey… you’ve read this far. That has to count for something. If you’re thinking, “Maybe therapy could help,” reach out.
