Welcome! My name is Claire, and I am a master’s level practicum student and intern completing my last year at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Asheville.
My path of going to graduate school to become a therapist is largely informed by my lived experience as a queer person and as a neurodivergent person. When I was younger I often felt alone, misunderstood, and struggled to find my place and my voice. I understand what it is like to feel different or “othered,” like you’re on the outside looking in. I also know what it’s like to reclaim your story and to heal.
I have a passion for working with queer individuals, neurodivergent individuals, and those who have experienced relational and/or religious trauma.
I offer a warm, curious, and affirming approach to therapy. I utilize a humanistic, client-centered, strengths-based perspective that incorporates attachment theory, narrative therapy, DBT, and somatic work. I believe that you are an expert in your own life and sometimes just need a safe space to land and be heard/witnessed exactly as you are. I believe that therapy is an individualized experience and doesn’t have a one-size-fits-all approach. We will work collaboratively to find what fits for your specific needs and goals.
Outside of this space, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones (this includes animals- I am obsessed with dogs), music (seeing it live and listening to it) spending time in nature, exploring new places, and being creative.
