“I hope you will go out and let stories, that is life, happen to you, and that you will work with these stories… water them with your blood and tears and your laughter till they bloom, till you yourself burst into bloom. That is the work.”

My Approach & Philosophy

I believe that everyone can become the version of themselves they want to be. I also believe that healing is a journey with many twists and turns.  Life can be beautiful and wonderful, and at other times it can feel like we’re being thrown one gut punch after another. We all need someone to lean on in order to keep going sometimes. We can’t do this alone forever!

My philosophy is informed by my lived experience. I have had my own struggles with anxiety, ADHD, identity exploration, and self-esteem. I have persevered through those struggles with the help of therapy. I have tricked myself into believing things would never get better many times. I had to learn how to show up for myself because I realized that no one was coming to “save” me – if I wanted things to change, I had to start with myself. Through my own therapy, I learned to integrate these experiences in a way that has colored my world for the better.

I take an eclectic approach to therapy, meaning I draw upon various modalities most relevant to your unique needs. As a clinical social worker, I also recognize the interconnectedness of the systems in which we live and their impact on our mental health.

In my practice, I strive to go beyond “band-aid fixes” and get to the root of the problem. I love helping clients reach those “Aha! I need to go lie down…” moments in therapy. At the same time, I believe in the transformational power of a non-judgmental space for clients to experience a safe connection with another human. Experience has taught me that empathy is the greatest antidote to shame. During our time together, silliness, tears, screaming and cursing are all welcome. I’m here to meet you where you are and to hold space for you however you need to show up.

You Deserve to Feel Great. I’m Here to Help.
