This training will cover theories, assessment tools, and treatment strategies related to client suicidality as well as strategies to build structure and support related to being a therapist working with suicidality. The training is both educational and interactive with a focus on community building.
What You’ll Learn
- This workshop is designed to help you compare guiding theories on suicide.
- This workshop is designed to help you analyze different assessment tools for the screening of suicidality in clients.
- Participants will be able to develop safety plans which honor client autonomy and support safety.

Meet the presenters!

Sabrina Longley, LCSW
Sabrina Longley is a queer, fat, Black, multiply neurodivergent Licensed Clinical Social Worker. B
Born and mostly raised on Mánu: Yį Įsuwą (Catawba), Lumbee Skaruhreh/Tuscarora, Cheraw, Occaneechi, and Shakori lands (colonially known as the Triangle Area of North Carolina), Sabrina obtained her bachelor’s in Psychology from North Carolina Central University and her masters in Social Work from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Sabrina is excited by her work with BBA, queer, fat, and neurodivergent folks.

Grace Parsley, LCMHC-A, NCC
Grace is a queer, trans, AuDHD Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate who recently transplanted to Asheville, NC.
She obtained her bachelor’s in Psychology from Colorado Christian University and their masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Grace is passionate about working with neurodivergent, queer/trans, and disabled clients across the lifespan.
