My Approach & Philosophy

I’ve always found that authenticity is the only path to true connection.

I spent years in boxes built by other people, desperately trying to understand why my experiences in this world left me feeling completely alone. Reaching out for help always felt like the shameful thing to do: “just grin and bear it,” “everyone has it hard, right?

Letting people in and experiencing my own therapy slowly enabled me to acknowledge my innate worth in deserving peace and love. It has been quite the windy path of self-discovery and self-acceptance. A lifelong journey.

I am a forever student, always trying to learn and grow. I love to incorporate creativity and non-traditional techniques in my own healing journey and in the counseling space. Music, embodiment, art and writing are some of my favorite tools of expression and making meaning. Humor and finding balance are key parts of how I show up in any space.

In counseling, I prioritize a humanistic lens. You are the expert on you. You deserve a counselor who will see you as a person first, not defined by your struggles but someone deserving of validation, support, and care. I pay close attention to the systems in which you are surrounded, the relationships that factor in your wellness, how the past informs the present, and the strengths you have within yourself to make a meaningful life.

I provide an LGBTQIA+ affirming space and hope to cultivate a space where intersecting identities are explored, integrated, and celebrated. You won’t find a blank-face therapist here, I strive to show up to every session with authenticity. I utilize a trauma-informed perspective and acknowledge that talk-therapy isn’t always the most helpful in processing and healing from traumatic experiences. Let’s get creative and work together to figure out what is most helpful for you.

You Deserve to Feel Great. I’m Here to Help.
